The Celtic Homeland

The Celtic culture is believed to have started in Central Europe around 800 BC. The Celtic territory was covering parts of the following modern name countries: Eastern France, Northern Switzerland, Southern Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Western Slovakia and Western Hungary. This area is now sometimes referred to as the « Celtic Homeland ». 

The Celtic Expansion

The Celtic culture has expanded from 450 BC up to the the Roman conquest (around 250 BC) to the following modern name countries: France, most Spain, Portugal, Southern Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Northern Serbia, Northern Bulgaria, Romania, Central part of Turkey, United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Southern Germany and Southern Poland.
